5th IEEE International Conference on Data Science in Cyberspace (IEEE DSC 2020)
27-29 July 2020
Hong Kong, China

ICDSC 2020 is Joining the Cyberspace

The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically changed our lives in recent months, and there is no sign of easing in the near future. Travel restrictions have occurred worldwide, with lockdown to some countries. Hong Kong has been hit by the third wave of outbreak in the past week, at an even larger scale than the first two waves. The Organizing Committee has to make the unfortunate decision to make the conference fully virtual, instead of the originally planned hybrid mode with physical presence at a reduced scale, which would have enabled participants to enjoy the good food in Hong Kong. Nevertheless, we believe that this would provide a perfect opportunity for all of us to experience the power of the cyberspace, for which much research efforts are still in need!

The virtual conference will be held via Zoom on the originally scheduled dates and time periods. The only change is to move from traditional physical presentation to the cyberspace, which is precisely the scope of this conference. We do hope that the quality of the conference would not be affected by this "cyber-physical" arrangement. In terms of paper submission and acceptance, the conference program is a good one. We do comprise an extremely strong collection of keynote speeches. We do hope that all participants would have enjoyed this event in the cyberspace.

We look forward to meeting you virtually at ICDSC 2020, as we are all connected.

Welcome to IEEE DSC 2020

The 2020 edition of the IEEE International Conference on Data Science in Cyberspace (DSC 2020) will be held in Hong Kong in July, 2020.

Data Science, as a highly interdisciplinary field, is playing a more and more critical and central role in the development of cyberspace and various applications. Data science in cyberspace is an integral part of competitive intelligence, a newly emerging field that encompasses a number of activities, such as data mining and data analysis. Data science in cyberspace inspires novel techniques and theories drawn from many areas, such as mathematics, statistics, information theory, computer science, and social science, and involves many specific domains, such as signal processing, probability models, machine learning, statistical learning, data mining, database, data engineering, pattern recognition and learning, visualization, predictive analytics, uncertainty modeling, data warehousing, data compression, computer programming, and high performance computing.

Previous IEEE DSC conferences were held in Hangzhou (2019), Guangzhou (2018), Shenzhen (2017), Changsha (2016).
